I’m Francis Wooby, a Registered Social Worker based in Lanark County, Ontario. I know that change is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
As a part of the social services and community development world for over 20 years, I began focusing on social work in 2015, pursuing my BSW at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. I am registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and am an active member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many different people through their encounters with anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, relationship issues, family discord, and other major life transitions. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based practice. We’ll work together to understand what’s happening in your life, explore patterns that might not be serving you, and develop effective tools to bolster your mental and emotional functioning and wellness.
I draw on a blend of established approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based strategies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and other trauma-informed and strengths-based perspectives.
At the heart of it all, my work is about connection and meeting you where you are to help you be your authentic, best self.
